Burgundy is for friends, I think, not for impressing people (deep coloured Cabernet Sauvingnons and Bordeaux château names do that). For wine traders, Burgundy is a brilliant place for small companies to operate, for that is the size of most of the best sources of supply. Even when planning to trade it, the best way to buy is still as a consumer, as if for one's own drinking, with best friends in mind. That way, it is hard to go wrong."

We established Terroir Wine Merchants in 2000 as a labor of love. After decades of tasting and enjoying the worlds great wines, we found ourselves consumed by the fullness and richness of the Pinot Noirs and Chardonnay's of Burgundy. We specialize in bringing the best of Burgundy to the United States. We focus primarily on Tasteviné, Hospices de Beaune and Hospices de Nuits wines. We have selected these wines for ourselves and our customers because they are recognized as the best wines in the world. Our Hospices de Beaune and Hospice de Nuits wines are selected from barrel tastings with the help of several Burgundian wine legends.
Terroir Wine Merchants is responsible for wine selection, importation and distribution. We sell wine to the trade as well as to the end consumer. It is our passion for wine, not profit that drives our pricing. We offer the best prices on high quality premieres and grand crus possible. If we could have found this high quality wine at these prices in the US, we would not have had to start Terroir Wine Merchants.
